About Me

I like winter weather, grape soda, Blues hockey, gadgets, gaming and Stephen King novels.  I don’t have a million friends, but I have a few great ones.  Consequently I do things like Twitter and such, but my privacy concerns come to loggerheads with the whole social network thing.  I’m trying to enjoy being liked by my kids before they get to those pesky teenage years.  I have more hobbies than time, and if I were able to quit my job today and just do those I still wouldn’t have enough time.  But I don’t sweat the small stuff and just worry about the things in life I can control.  And sometimes not even then.  That’s not to say I can’t get annoyed… for example, I don’t like stupid drivers at 4-way stop signs, low-flow toilets you have to flush twice, TV reporters who are “on location” for news that happened hours and hours before, and people who pay at stores with checks (debit cards, people!), to name a few.  I don’t think outside the box often, because I like the box, dammit!  But I admire people who can play beautiful music on a piano, or create a fantastic drawing on a blank piece of paper.  So I was probably having a nice lay down when the creative gene wagon came by.  Which is why I suck at “About Me” writeups.

Favorite Quotes:

“A toast to Mother and Dad on their wedding anniversary: We never know the love of our parents for us until we become parents.” – Henry Ward Beecher

“The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.” – Stephen King, The Dark Tower I: The Gunslinger

“High on a rocky promontory sat an electric monk on a bored horse.” – Douglas Adams, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency

  1. Congrats on having one of the fastest growing blogs! How did you get the RSS Feed and other avatars at the bottom of your page. I just can’t figure that out!

  2. It’s a royal pain. There’s no mechanism to do it other than manually. I eventually gave up on it because it just wasn’t very convenient.
