This was a triumph… Steam for Mac! Free Portal!

Steam for Mac

… I’m making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.  It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction…

Valve’s digital game distribution platform Steam, first available to PC users in 2004, was finally released for Mac operating system today.  I’m not a huge fan of digital distribution and despise digital rights management, preferring to actually own my content instead of lease it, but it’s great to see some gaming love go to Mac users.  As a bonus, signing up for Steam is free AND right now you can download the awesome Portal for FREE!  That’s right, my previous Game of the Year pick is FREE until May 24th.  Have your cake and eat it too!  No lie!
